Over 44 Years of Proven Success! The Boys & Girls Club of Westminster (The Club) has been providing positive places for children to go during non-school hours, particularly when there is no adult at home, at the same location since 1968 - long before the word "latchkey" became a part of our vocabulary! We provide much more than quality supervision at an affordable cost; character-building, education, and enrichment opportunities are recurrent themes in all of our core programs. Orange County leads the nation in the need for care for children, as dictated by the high cost of housing, the large percentage of single-parent families, and the increasing number of immigrant families. In 2011, the Club provided services to over 1,100 children ranging in age from 5-17 years old.
The Club serves residents throughout Orange County including the following cities, Westminster, Garden Grove, Fountain Valley, Huntington Beach, Costa Mesa, Santa Ana, Anaheim, Buena Park, and Stanton with year-round programs. Academic Success Programs (A.S.E.S./P.R.I.D.E.) are delivered from the Club’s main branch and on 6 local school campuses so that students may remain safely at their school site until parents arrive. Homework help and supervised activities are available until 6 pm on school days. Listed below is some demographic information that has helped us identify the needs of our youth and the community.
